- Google recognises you as a trusted local authority.
For small and service-based businesses, strong local SEO strategy is the shortest path from search to sale.
The CLIMB Process For Local SEO
Good SEO starts with understanding, not assumptions. Our work follows a structured process, adapted to your business, market, and competition.
C – Clarify the Why
Clarify what you want Local SEO to achieve and which products or services matter most: commercially. So, effort and budget stay focused on outcomes in your chosen catchment area.
L – Learn How They Search Locally
Research how your customers search locally across platforms: Google, Bing AI and elsewhere. We dig into potential local customers want, and the language they use in your region.
I – Improve Your Digital Home
We assess and, where needed, restructure and refine your website so it’s clear, trustworthy, and built around what local customers are actually searching for.
M – Make Noise Everywhere
We strengthen your footprint across the web: local business listings (which have become more significant again for local searches and AI answers), mentions, social signals, and digital PR. These are the external signals that help search engines (and AI tools) trust and surface your brand even for local searches.
B – Be Accountable For Results
We monitor performance, attribute outcomes where possible, and adjust priorities as competitors shift and algorithms change — because what’s measured can be improved.
The Climb Approach to Local SEO in Detail
Every campaign follows the same measurable rhythm we use across all our SEO work:
- Understand the exact geography where you need to be found and build up a customer persona. Identify how they search in that area.
- Audit & Benchmarking – review your Google Business Profile, website and citations.
- Optimise & Enhance – apply technical and on-page fixes; align keywords with local intent.
- Promote & Build Authority – strengthen relevance through local links, PR and reviews.
- Measure & Refine – monitor map pack rankings, calls and direction requests in GA4 and Search Console.
No guesswork — just a repeatable system that converts visibility into customers.

Niche: Campsite Near Carlisle
Problem: A successful campsite with ambitions to improve their ability to generate leads directly through their own website rather than through the booking monoliths.
Approach: The CLIMB approach was adopted gently.
C – Clarify:
An initial contact came to nothing but 2 years later the owner of the campsite got back in touch for help. Their new website was doing quite well but hadn’t really been tuned in very well. Most of their new customers were landing via the campsite and accommodation booking giants, so a large chunk of revenue was going in commission. They had no problem getting repeat bookings through their own site as their brand was now familiar, but new customers almost always came through the booking platforms.
L- Learn:
Keyword research into camping, pods, bell tents and campervans was undertaken to identify how their ideal customers were searching out the accommodation on offer.
I – Improve:
The well targeted intent groups were mapped to the existing pages and also called for 2 new pages to be created. The topic map of the website improvements was developed.
Topical guidance was produced we undertook the rewriting and creation of fresh copy for each of the core services. Copy was written, checked by the business owner for accuracy and “vibe”then uploaded to the website.
M – Make Noise:
Very few business citations existed so an initial batch of 30 were added. This complemented and strengthened their presence in the booking portals and camping directory sites.
This was the only extra “noise” added to the brand so far.
B – Being Accountable:
The campsite has access to their dashboard to allow them to see the progress they are making. Spring of 2026 will show how successful the work, so far, has been and what else needs to be carried out. In the 2 months since the work was completed (November – December in the run up to Christmas a slight but not insignificant increase in visitor traffic was noticed.

FAQs about Local SEO Services
What is Local SEO?
Local SEO is a set of processes aimed at improving your online presence withing a locality, city or even a smaller region such as Cumbria or the Borderlands. The focus is on potential customers; either living. or visiting, near you so that they can find and contact your business more reliably and profitably. It includes tactics such as Google Business Profile optimisation, local business citations, better focussed and more infornmative local content and review management.
Do I Need a Different Strategy For Each Location or Shop?
No – the strategy is the same, but the tactics are all about developing unique, location-specific pages and listings to help Google and your next best customer to distinguish what’s special about your brand in each service area and improve your brand’s map visibility usefully for searchers.
How soon will I see results?
Typically, but that’s dependent on a lot of factors, clients notice more map-pack impressions and calls within 6 – 10 weeks, with broader ranking improvements following steadily after that. It can take up to a year for that movement to be seen if your website is starting from a very poorly optimised position. Google can be quite unforgiving of brands that make a poor quality or spammy start.
